- Up to 1 m long. Main stems mostly four to five-angled, blunt, up to 6 mm diameter, apically branching. Stems mostly flat, yellowish green. Primary stems 20-25 cm long, up to 0.5 cm broad, secundary stems 8-12 cm long. Areoles 1-4.5 cm apart, with little felt and smalle scales, round to short ellipsoid, sometimes with 1-2 thin bristly spines. Flower white, 7 mm long, 1 cm diameter. Ovary short cylindric, 3 mm long, sometimes with some scales and small spines. Anthers whitish. Fruit 0.5-1 cm diameter, white to reddish or yellowish.

- Southern Ecuador, North Perú to Olmos and (T: Olleros). Flowering time: September to November.
