Selenicereus hondurensis (KSch)Br&R - Contr. US Nat. Herb. 12:430 (1909)

- Stems 2.2 cm thick. Ribs 7-10. Areoles 6-10 mm apart, brownish, with 1.5 cm longc urly hairs . Periferal spines 7-9, white, fragile. Central spines 1 or more, up to 6 mm long, reddish brown. Flower 23 cm long, 18 cm broad. Ovary with many grey white hairs, not adpressed. Outer petals spreading, brown or dark yellow. Inner petals yellowish white. Filaments white, anthers light yellow. Style white, stigma light yellow. Fruit 6 cm long, 5.5 cm diameter, pink red, pulpa white. Seeds 2-2.5 mm long, black.
