- Shiny green, with some aerial roots. Stems long, up to 1.3 cm thick. Ribs 4-5(-6), sharp, later shallow. Areoles red brown, later grey brown. Spines yellowish brown to white. Periferal spines 6, of which 2 longer, 5 mm long, adpressed, 4 shorter, 2 mm long. Central spines 1, 5 mm long. Flower 15 cm long and broad, not scented, white. Ovary with reddish to white bristles. Outer petals light red brown. Pistil white.

- VS: Texas; Mexico: Hidalgo, Nuevo León, Puebla, Querétaro, Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Tabasco, San Luis Potosí, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Guanajuato, up to 2100 m.
