- Irregularly branched, with few aerial roots, three-angled, ±4 cm diameter, sharp, green, around the areoles brown. Areoles 3-3,5 cm apart, slightly raised. Spines 2 3, thick, 1 3 mm long, yellow. Flower 9 10 cm long. Scales 0,5 2 cm long, 1 cm broad, overlapping, greenish to yellowish, the lower ones with some cream hairs, less than 0,5 mm long. Receptacle 4,5 5,5 cm long, 1 2 cm diameter. Outer petals linear, brown or red-purple. Inner petals purple-red, with light edges, lanceolate, 4 8 cm long. Filaments light yellow. Lower part of style light yellow, upper part pink-cream, stigmas cream. Fruit globose, 7 cm diameter, shiny, yellowish green, later red. Seed 2,5 3x1,5 2x0,75 1 mm, smooth.
